WIPO, Growth Lab launch Innovation Capabilities Navigator

The Innovation Capabilities Navigator is an interactive dashboard launched by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and Harvard’s Growth Lab. It maps over 2,500 capabilities across 193 economies to help policymakers and researchers identify innovation strengths, complexity profiles, and high-potential pathways for growth.

The tool was developed alongside the Innovation Capabilities Outlook 2026 report, which analyzes billions of data points across science, technology, entrepreneurship, and production. Instead of just tracking R&D spending or patents, it maps out the specific “connectedness” of a country’s capabilities to show how knowledge is commercialized and scaled.
