Since its inception in 2006, the Growth Lab has had the privilege to work with 5,000+ current and future policymakers and multilateral practitioners around the world through our research policy engagements, Executive Education courses, and graduate and mid-career programs here at the Harvard Kennedy School.
We are motivated by this network of individuals working together to produce evidence-based research and policy to improve lives.

Policymakers and Practitioners
The Growth Lab has engaged in more than 50 research initiatives across the globe at the national, regional/state, and city levels. In our policy engagements, our research teams have worked closely with hundreds of government leaders, civil servants, local university researchers, and development practitioners to diagnose problems and design policy responses.
Research Collaborations and Alumni
Over the last twenty years, we have deepened our collaborations with colleagues here at Harvard University. In the spirit of sharing our knowhow, we established Growth Co-Labs with faculty and researchers around the world who share our mission. Also, Growth Lab alumni are teaching our methodologies in graduate programs at top universities worldwide.
COVID-19 Task Force
In response to COVID-19, Growth Lab Director Ricardo Hausman brought together a task force, including members of our academic and applied research teams, to support our project counterparts worldwide. This team worked quickly to understand the dynamics of the virus by connecting with experts across Harvard University. Our team shared new insights and offered strategic guidance on economic and epidemiological policy decisions with project counterparts in Albania, Ethiopia, El Salvador, Honduras, Peru, Namibia, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia.
